Mom Mom’s Macaroni Casserole

1 ½ – 2 pounds of ground beef           

1 large jar spaghetti sauce

1 small green pepper and 1 small onion (optional) (I use sauce with pepper and onion already in it)

1 8 oz Cracker Barrel white sharp cheddar cheese grated               

16 oz Box of Macaroni

1 egg

Brown hamburger in large skillet along with pepper and onion. Drain fat. Add spaghetti sauce. Cook macaroni per box directions. Drain pasta and return to pot. Add egg and blend. Now take a large casserole dish that has been sprayed with Pam and layer meat sauce, macaroni and cheese like you would lasagna. Save a small bit of cheese for the top to the side. Bake about 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. Place the rest of cheese on time and continue baking for another 15 minutes or until casserole is hot and bubbly. The trick to this dish is the white cheddar, the beaten egg in the macaroni and layering.
