Make Ahead Butterballs

2 cups Make Ahead Cookie mix

1 egg

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

2 tblsp butter

1 tsp vanilla or almond extract

Powder sugar

 

In large bowl combine all ingredients except nuts and powder sugar. Blend until stiff dough forms. Blend in nuts. Shape into 3/4 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet Bake at 375 for 11 to 16 minutes until edges are light golden brown. Cool slightly. Roll in powder sugar.

Cherry Winks: To above dough, stir in 1/2 cup raisins or chopped dates and 1/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries into dough. Shape dough into 3/4 balls. Coat with finely crushed corn flakes. Press cherry half into center of each cookie. Bake at 375 for 11 to 16 minutes until edges are light golden brown.
